What is covered

Without insurance you are paying the agency's own rate. There is no authorization to wait on, which is why some families start here while an appeal is pending.

Paying directly, either because a plan excludes ABA or because an agency is out of network. Rates are set by the agency, and many will discuss a sliding scale or a reduced rate for a committed block of hours.

Ask them: What is your self-pay hourly rate, and do you offer a sliding scale?

Before your first session

• Confirm the agency is in network, not just willing to bill.
• Ask how many authorized hours, over what dates.
• Ask your copay per session.
• Get the reauthorization date in writing.
